LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
  • Mission, Vision, Purpose, Culture, and Values. Bernie’s forthcoming book “Shaping Markets” focuses on practical guidance for companies wanting to establish or revisit each of these core choices. As the financial services environment is rapidly changing, it may be an opportune time to reexamine the direction credit unions are embracing and “how” their mission/vision is accomplished. 
  • Strategy and Leadership. Building a strategy that can create sustainable competitive advantage is a key challenge for every credit union. It’s difficult to gain competitive advantage by doing the same activities as every other financial institution. The key is to place bets on capabilities that are unique and sustainable. Furthermore, even with a sound strategy, if the leadership competencies and behaviors throughout the organization do not support the strategy, it is unlikely to be successful. We have completed numerous client engagements on strategy and their associated leadership competencies.
  • Profitable, Organic Growth. Over the years, Bernie has worked with many leading firms on their growth strategy – Cisco, Seagate, Amgen, ResMed, Becton -Dickinson, GE, and many others. His book on organic growth received the “best book” award by the American Marketing Association in 2019. The methods he uses were derived from hundreds of client engagements conducted by his previous firm – Monitor Group. It is a very teachable and learnable methodology.

  • Addressing Member Concerns - Get to the “Why” behind the “No” – When clients decline your recommendation, you can’t respond effectively unless you know their reasoning.  We’ll follow a process to gain clarity and respond to concerns and objections with confidence!

Progress Coaching:

We've partnered with Progress Coaching to address these challenges and provide our clients with a system that teaches managers how to engage and develop better performance levels with specific coaching approaches and techniques.


Onsite Coaching and Development:
Our Master Trainer/Coach will work side-by-side with your managers/leaders to observe coaching approaches, provide specific, behavioral feedback, refine coaching skills and set them up for success. Managers/Leaders receive "real-time" feedback, as well as a development plan for continued improvement.
